About the ICMCI (The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes)
The ICMCI is the pre-eminent body of the Management Consulting profession. With a presence in over 50 countries the ICMCIs biennial Congress is an important working meeting for all to attend.
In addition to a number of Committee initiatives that need trustee review and engagement, a good portion of the agenda will be devoted to ‘the role of ICMCI and the IMCs in developing the consulting community and positively impacting the local and global economies’.
The congress programme will be available at a later date.

The ICMCI was founded in 1987 to promote a closer working relationship between all management consulting institutes or organizations primarily dedicated to the registration or certification of individual management consultants. In recognition of the role management consulting plays in world trade, ICMCI was granted Non Government Organization (NGO) status with Special Consulting Focus by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2001.
ICMCI is an international membership organization and a network of the management advisory and consultancy associations and institutes worldwide, who have a common purpose and shared values and goals.
The goal of ICMCI is to promote a closer working relationship between all management consulting institutes or organizations primarily dedicated to the registration or certification of individual management consultants. The purpose of this closer working relationship is to accelerate the
achievement of mutual goals of the national institutes, particularly to assist them in raising the standards of the profession of management consulting and to create worldwide recognition and acceptance of the CMC (Certified Management Consultant) mark.
The core activities, focused on the promotion and improvement of the CMC value proposition, are to:
- Achieve common objectives to improve profession
- Elevate standards of management consultants worldwide and increase acceptance of management consulting as a respected profession
- Encourage reciprocity between national institutes with recognized universal standards and adherence to an International Code of Conduct
- Promote the value of the CMC to international bodies who influence the selecting and use of management consultants
